“What a crowd, what a turnout,” Trump said near a firetruck, addressing Harvey Hurricane victims

“What a crowd, what a turnout,” Trump said near a firetruck, addressing a few hundred Texans after disaster-relief briefing in Corpus Christi, Tx.

President Donald Trump, addressing a crowd of people who had gathered outside a firehouse where he met with local officials in Corpus Christi, Texas, remarked on the size of the crowd as if he were at a rally.

“Thank you everybody,” Trump said as he waived. He told people the response to Harvey’s flooding “is going well.”

Looking over the gathering, he remarked: “What a crowd, what a turnout,” according to video of the remarks.

The crowd could be heard cheering in the video. But CNN reported not everyone was supportive of the president. The network said a sign held read “You pardoned Joe, what about Jose?” in reference to Trump pardon of former Maricopa (Ariz.) County Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

In the meeting with local and state officials earlier, Trump said Harvey’s destruction and flooding was a disaster “of epic proportions.”
