Joel Osteen made it again while preaching at his multi-million dollar church about Hurricane Harvey on Sunday.
As the hurricane and floods devastated Houston, Texas and the nearby region, Osteen closed the 16,000 seat church instead of without delay opening it up as a refuge for sufferers of the storm.
Not just after intense criticism add to that the fact that Muslim mosques had already opened their doors to everybody who needs help that Osteen finally opened his church
He went on television after that and put the blame on the city of Houston for not demanding him to open up the church as a shelter although the Christian mission is to help people without asking.
50 victims were killed, but Osteen is now drawing a new round of anger and condemnation after he spoke about the hurricane in his latest Sunday sermon.
As Osteen sees it, people hit by Hurricane Harvey should “take it as a compliment” from God.
“The reason it may seem like God is not waking up is not because he’s ignoring you, not because he’s uninterested, it’s because he knows you can handle it,” Osteen said. “Take it as a compliment.”
This little line of silliness came after Osteen told a tale about Jesus not waking up during a storm to assist people on a boat because he knew they could handle it themselves. Sure, had those people drowned, Jesus would have felt like a total douche bag. And that’s the way Osteen should feel right now since 50 people passed away and thousands more are on the streets.
Joel Osteen is not a true Christian who has gotten rich off of duping his congregants into believing that making him richer will result in wealth trickling down on them from God. Instead of wealth, however, all Osteen’s congregants received is a natural disaster. And Osteen has the gall to call it a “compliment.” Again, how can anybody actually believe that this monster is a human being, much less a Christian?
